I used to take a 12.5 mg kids Benadryl to sleep. If I take 1 25 mg Benadryl pill, I cannot keep my eyes open after 1 hour. trying to tire myself out because I could not sleep. Once I took an Ambien and I had insomnia for 36 hours. Then, again, sleeping pills can have very strange side effects for me. That stuff knocked me out fo 12 hours at a time and I was in a fog all day when I woke up.

For example, years ago, I was given 25 mg of Seroquel to sleep. I'm also very sensitive to sedating qualities of drugs. I feel almost ready to give up and take some herbs or something.which may make me worse. And if I were to get called into the OR, I could not assist in surgery because of the tremors. I treat patients in a subspeciality surgical service. I just didn't expect overt tremors and this awful feeling of not having clear thinking. The side effects are just unreasonable for me. I have tried the following meds (alone, together, you name it) over the last 10 years:Ĭymbalta, Effexor, Prozac, Lexapro, Celexa, Gabitril, Lamictal, Trileptal, Buspar.maybe more, can't remember. She thinks my body was overwhelmed by the Wellbutrin and wants me to take 150 mg again for probably a month. She said that the 1 mg of Ativan would rarely cause this and that it could be used to treat tremors. She may now tell me to take it temporaily during the day because of this. But for this to appear suddenly is really confusing.ġ) Can you get delayed side effects a week or two into treatment? Usually my side effects are immediate.Ģ) Could this be Ativan withdrawal? I know my pdoc is going to say no and to keep taking it. (I also have hypothyroidism, so maybe I have too much synthroid?). I had an annual physical yesterday and my doc said he'd email me my bloodwork results. I cannot take any SSRI/SNRI as I'm really sensitive to serotonin (bruxism, extreme sweating, blurry vision, etc). My regular doc doesn't think so and I have left a message with my pdoc. This morning I started wondering if the 1 mg of Ativan at night is causing this. I had to suture a wound today and could barely steady my hand. I saw my pdoc and she said, "This is the yucky feeling I was talking about with Wellbutrin because you have anxiety." Why didn't it happen sooner? And today, I took nothing because I cannot stand this feeling. Yesterday I took 150 mg (pdoc rec), but still felt bad, like really bad. Then over the weekend, I started waking up really shaky, tremulous, and "internally" shaky. Last Thursday, I increased my dose of Wellbutrin to 300 mg and felt really dry mouth and definitely a little jittery, but nothing terrible at first. I also take Ativan 1 mg at night for sleep, which was started about 4 weeks ago. I started Wellbutrin XL 150 mg about 2 weeks ago and felt a wee bit jittery, but okay in general. I was recently diagnosed with atypical depression.
